Beethoven's Choral Symphony

It's not strictly accurate to say that the choral finale of Beethoven's 9th Symphony is named Ode to Joy. More correctly, it's a setting of a poem of that title by Friedrich Schiller. To quote Wikipedia: "Beethoven's text is not based entirely on Schiller's poem, and introduces a few new sections."

The other comment one might make about this question concerns the use of the word 'discredited' to describe the European Union. Some of us might not like it, but (as someone who does not include himself in that number) I would point out that almost half of UK voters wanted to remain in it. I would also suggest that the majority of European nations are more than happy to be members of it; a great many of those that are not, would like to be; and the rest of the world is more than happy to trade with it.
